Reinforcing Good Behavior

Remember I was having trouble with controlling my anger weeks ago. I did some homework and I implemented a new game for my kids. It's called Reinforcing Good Behavior using Reward System. I started doing this 2 days ago. and thank God! it works!

How do I do it??

Very easy - I made my own star charts. Purchased the sticky chart from Popular bookstore. Printed out some colorful cute free stickers from the internet. and wallaaa I'm done on the material part.

Now is to set the rules.

1. how many stickers do u want to collect today? my eldest son, Akmal says 10...yes, i think that's plausible. Asyraaf says he wants to collect a million stickers! naaahhh no way he can get that! hehehe he is too excited about the cute little stickers i printed out. so, i try to fix a target which i think he can deliver. Meanwhile, for Alya she said she wants to collect 5 only. whoopss, that too little for her since she is already 6 years old.. "how about having 8 stickers!" she agreed to it.

2. So, what are the thinks you can do to get the number of stickers that you have decided on? Now, this is the tricky part. my kids tend to listed down all the house chores that they will do, like picking up clothes from the yard, putting all the dirty laundries in the washing machine, help grandma in the kitchen, help grandpa in the garden...well they have forgotten all about their school homework, ucmas homework, prayers, ngaji..so, u have to discuss this with them.

once they are clear what they have to do...then, u can start the game. somehow, it's so easy to make them do all these with this reward system. they have fun doing the school works, and house chores because they know that they are being rewarded for watever effort that they have put in.

Yeyyy...i hope my little experimental project with my kids works continuously..needless to say, i need to be creative, and improvise this in order to make it fun for the kids! and that will motivate them to move forward.

Try this to your kids, and you will see the difference. Good luck friends!
