Parents Anger Management
According to a phsychologist in Illinois, yelling shows that a parent has no strategy on parenting. what parents should be doing whenever they are losing control are:
1. Exit or wait - take a few minutes cooling off period from the situation
2. Use the word I instead of You - for example, "You never learn", "You are such a lazy kid" vs "I am angry with you because I need to pick up your clothes everyday", "I'm frustrated because your homework are not done yet"
3. Dont speak - when you are too angry, dont speak. You should rather write them down. While looking for a pen and a paper, might cool things off.
4. Stay in the present - when you are angry, dont list down all the issues in the past. Stick to the current issue
5. Restore good feeling - when you feeling better, it's good to reconnect again with your loved ones by apologizing and explain to them what you are feeling. it shows them that adults too can make mistakes.
6. Record your yelling - whenever you are turning ballastic, record yourself using a handphone and listen to your yelling. imagine yourself as a child and how hurting it is to hear those words uttered from a mother or father's mouth.
i hope the tips will help you to control your anger while managing your kids..

Getting Your Kids to Fast During Ramadhan Month
Ramadhan 2010 was really a great experience for my kids.
Akmal, the 8-year-old king, successfully completed his 1-month fasting journey.
Alya, the 6-year-old pretty princess, was able to fast for 25 days !! She is sooooo strong for her age. When I was her age I hardly completed 1 whole day of fasting.
Asyraaf, the 5-year-old handsome knight, was fasting for 2 days!! It was quite a challenged to persuade him to fast. He couldn't keep himself from eating his favorite "kuih panas" aka akok!
He kept on saying, "How can I avoid the food! I can't stop thinking about that food!".
Asyraaf's idea to avoid his food is to lock his brain. Do you know how he is gonna lock his brain??
Asraaf said, "I lock my braind by not thinking about the food. When I don't think about food, then I will stop thinking about them. That's how i lock my brain".
Ameer, my little 3-year-old prince, still not fasting yet..too small to understand all this..
How do i encourage them to fast? I use the reward system, of course!
